Favorite Aspect of Westmont: My favorite aspect of Westmont would have to be the people and its location. Westmont cultivates a community of intentional scholars who aim to be supportive along your journey. From peers to faculty members, everyone is friendly, compassionate, and intentional about the work they do, which is something that is hard to find anywhere else. Additionally, Santa Barbara is beautiful and the best place to have a fun time with friends on the weekends or even jump in the ocean for a swim on your lunch break. The gorgeous mountain and ocean scenery truly make Westmont a perfect place.

Favorite Westmont Memory: A favorite Westmont memory would have to be acting in Spring Sing. This event features dorms competing theatrically by putting together skits performed at the Santa Barbara Bowl. It was awesome to have the opportunity to be a main character in the skit I participated in, where I got to sing and dance center stage in front of the whole student body, friends, and family. My skit, in essence, was about a confused senior who doesn't know what life holds post-college and finds himself taking a dream job back at Westmont as an admissions counselor.

Favorite Place on Campus: Among the many beautiful locations at Westmont, Magnolia Lawn is my favorite. It offers beautiful sunrises and sunsets over ‘the rock’ and usually has heavy foot traffic going in and out of the library, making it fun to run into friends at any time.

Why do you work at Westmont? Simply because I aim to be a part of this community and invite people into it. I have been blessed by the inclusivity and intentionality Westmont offers newcomers, and I love to share my experience to help high schoolers find their interests and passions, hopefully to be pursued here in sunny Santa Barbara.

Hobbies: I enjoy playing frisbee on the beach or on a grassy field with friends. Tossing the plastic is one of my favorite things. I also love music of all kinds and playing music. I have been a drummer since elementary school and have had many gigs around town. Additionally, I am a big fan of oldies, specifically anything from the 80s. "Back to the Future" is my movie of choice, and I constantly play my Peter Gabriel cassette tape on my boombox. Another fun hobby is fixing things up in the garage and giving them new life, so if you see a guy on an old Vespa on campus or around town, feel free to holler!
